SELF-INTRODUCTION:

Haocheng Lu is an assistant professor in School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology. Haocheng completed his bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine at Peking University Health Science Center in 2014. In 2014-2019, Haocheng finished his PhD study at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and continued his postdoc training from 2019 to 2022.

Haocheng’s work focuses on identifying new cardiovascular diseases-causal genes and develop novel treatments. The strategy includes human GWAS, next-generation sequencing and animal models. Haocheng also develops a in-vivo CRISPR screen platform to facilitate the discovery of new disease-associated genes.

1.     Identify novel cardiovascular disease-causal genes with the integration of GWAS, multi-OMICS and animal models.

2.     Study macrophage function in disease with new in vivo CRIPSR screen method.

3.     Transform scientific discovery to clinical treatment.
