黃立民教授,英國皇家化學會會士(FRSC)。于1991、1994和1997年分別獲得復旦大學應用化學學士、物理化學碩士和物理化學博士學位。2000-2002、2002-2005年分別于美國加州大學河濱分校、哥倫比亞大學任博士后研究員;2005-2009年任美國哥倫比亞大學納米研究中心助理研究員,2009-2012年美國紐約城市大學能源研究所研究員和資深研究員。2012-至今任南方科技大學化學系教授,樹仁書院院長,曾擔任化學系副主任和樹仁書院副院長。黃立民博士的研究側重于納米材料(包括復合氧化物納米晶、納米介電材料、分子篩和介孔材料、碳納米材料、二維材料等)的合成及其在介電儲能、化學儲能、催化(光電催化)和柔性可打印器件等方面的應用。已發表論文 140 篇,其中包括 3 篇Science, 2 篇 J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2 篇 Adv. Mater.和 2 篇 Phys. Rev. Lett。有關科研成果入選 IEEE 1906.1 國際標準,曾被美國商業周刊、英國新科學家、科學美國人和麻省理工技術評論等雜志報道。已有兩項美國專利被企業使用。曾獲得美國材料研究學會的最佳海報獎(2007年)和上海市科學技術進步獎一等獎(2005年)等獎勵。擔任雜志Nanomaterials和Explora: Environment and Resource的編輯委員會委員。

黃立民博士已在國際刊物上已發表文章140篇,已獲授權美國專利4項和中國專利6項,已轉讓2項美國專利供企業使用。
