Yiran WANG
Assistant Professor

Yiran Wang is an Assistant Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUST). She received her B.S. degree from Ocean University of China in 2015 and Ph.D. degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) in 2020. Then worked as postdoctoral and research assistant professor positions at PolyU. She joined SUST in February 2023. Yiran is mainly engaged in artificial intelligence (AI) remote sensing for planetary geomorphological features, involving intelligent algorithms, data products, and scientific discovery. The research outputs have provided technical support for the landing sites selection for China's lunar (Chang’E-4) and Mars (Tianwen-1) exploration missions. The research outcomes were reported by China Daily, which achieved a good social impact. In the past five years, she has published 16 SCI papers, including 6 first/corresponding-author SCI papers in GRL, JGR-Planets, ESSD, IEEE TGRS.
