Xia Wenbin, born in Tianchang, Anhui Province, is the Chair Professor, Dean of the School of Marxism, Southern University of Science and Technology. He is the chief host of major projects of the National Social Science Fund, and serves as the vice chairman of the Research Association of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, member of the Ideological and Political Theory Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, member of the Expert Consulting Committee of the Ministry of Commerce, expert reviewer of the National Social Science Fund Project, and expert reviewer of the doctoral dissertations of the Ministry of Education.
He has served as a deputy university-level official of Peking University, secretary of the Party Committee of Shihezi University, and president of the University of International Business and Economics. He has made significant contributions to contemporary social development theory, equity and justice theory, and university governance. He has written dozens of books such as "Development Philosophy of Contemporary China" and "Towards the Road of Justice". He has published more than 200 articles in journals such as "Philosophical Research", "Journal of Peking University", "People's Daily", "Marxism and Reality", and "Reading". His achievements have been awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Government multiple times.
