Dear colleagues and students,
SUSTech is now launching a series of celebrations to mark its 10th?anniversary in 2020, and the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering will make its contribution by organizing a photography exhibition under the theme of “Ocean Exploration”. We are much honoured to invite you to this event, with a chance to present us the ocean in your eyes.
1. Photography theme
It is required that your work fully reflects the characteristics of the ocean and ocean cultures, such as the beauty of marine nature and life, ocean cultures, marine economies, etc., all of which can be submitted.
2. Requirements
Black and white or colour images taken by professional cameras or mobile phones. Each of you are free to submit up to 3 images of any style.
1) The works must be original and titled.
2) For camera photos the size should be 2M at least, and for mobile phone photos no less than 1M. The image must be sharp and the colour accurate.
3) The authenticity of the images must be retained. Simple modifications of the images are accepted, such as adjusting hue, shading, contrast or saturation. Original colour images can be transformed into black and white or monochrome ones. It is not allowed to use digital or traditional darkroom technology to add, shift or delete any objects in the picture, or significantly alter the original colour. Computer-generated images are not eligible for this contest.
4) It is not allowed to submit image that received any awards in other photography competitions.
5) No texts are allowed on the image. The image file format can be JPG, JPEG or PNG.
6) The contents shall not infringe upon legitimate rights and interests of any third party, nor violate of any laws, regulations, policies or ethical values;
3. Submission
1) File name: author’s name + photo title (no more than 20 characters).
With multiple photos, add numbers in the file name after the author’s name, e.g.: “Li Ming (1) + sunrise at sea”. Each image should be annotated with one or two sentences to briefly describe the content of the image or the background story.
2) Information to provide: title/theme of the photo, author, the date when the photo was taken.
